About Brianna Jean

A West Virginia-born storyteller weaving folk and Appalachian roots into every song.

I grew up in a musical family in West Virginia, spending weekends at Taylor Made concerts with my dad, aunt, and uncle. Music was part of how we spent time together, and I learned early that a song could hold a family story, bring people into the same room, and stay with you long after the last note.

I’m Brianna Jean, a West Virginia songwriter whose music draws on Appalachian folk, indie-pop, and the stories that have been passed down—or left unfinished. My family’s roots run deep in McDowell County, and that place finds its way into my songs: the people, the history, the hard parts, and the pull of a place you carry with you even after you leave. I write about family, memory, belonging, and the complicated people who make a story worth telling.

Some songs come from my own life; others begin with a bit of history, a family tale, or a question I can’t stop thinking about. I want the songs to feel rooted in where I’m from while still sounding like my own. This is music for anyone who has ever looked back toward home and found that it was still a part of them.
